Posted this in the Preventative Maintenance section but did not get a response so i though i would post here.

When we first bought our 2002 Nissan Xterra in 2012, the previous owner told us to always use Castrol on the vehicle. Ever since, I have been using GTX High Mileage 10w40. Its not a full synthetic, but its a semi synthetic blend. Now i've been wanting to try out Mobil 1 High Mileage and that is a full synthetic oil. Now i have heard that when you go from Synthetic back to conventional you can have some problems. GTX High Mileage isn't a full synthetic. Would i start seeing any problems if i go from GTX High Mileage over to Mobil 1 High Mileage, and then after a few oil changes, go back to GTX High Mileage?

It's oil. Don't break your brain over it. Just put some in and drive. Oil has come a long way in 15 years. I run 6-8k mile changes on whatever the fuck is on sale.

I dont need to use the lucas mucus on my xterra yet. Im only at 163k. My question is still unanswered. My question is, will i have problems going from Mobil 1 High Mileage Full Synthetic, back to Castrol GTX High Mileage Semi Synthetic Blend?
No, it will not hurt anything. I also have a 2002 Xterra but I have 235,000 miles on mine. It does leak a little oil but rings are good and doesn't smoke. I run Castrol GTX 5-30 High mileage. I have gone from regular to full and now I am running the blend(High Mileage). One thing I did do was switch from Fram (I know, I know) oil filter to Napa gold. A lot less crud on my magnetic oil pan screw.
