Passenger brake light is out. Also, the passenger side of the third brake light is out. The turn signal, taillights, and drivers sie all work. A quick search said it might be the brake light switch. Can someone verify? (i got conflicting results when I googled it so...) Also, I gadget even started looking but I imagine that it is a fairly straightforward install but correct me if I'm wrong.

After more research... Not necessarily specific to xterra though, I'm thinking that if the switch was bad, the entire third brake light would be out (although, I could be wrong, correct me if so). So now I'm guessing I have two problems, a bulb is out (easy), AND a faulty third brake light. Can I replace those bulbs too or do I have to replace the unit?

Replace the passenger side bulbs first....
