Working on a friends 07 Xterra, her blower motor isn't working at all. I pulled the resistor out and looked at it, no visible signs of damage or wear. I pulled the plug to the blower motor and supplied power to it and ground to see if it would spin. Turned the car on, made a jumper from the plug that was reading 11v and put it to the terminal on the blower motor, then another jumper from the other terminal to the negative on the battery. The fan did not spin. Is the blower fan dead? Is there another way to test it? Is there a way to test the resistor with a multimeter? Sorry if this has been explained somewhere, all of the threads and videos I have found have not been able to answer my questions.

If you jumped power and ground directly to fan and nothing then yes I'd say the blower is dead. Did you smell burning when you did that?
