Hey I have a 03 Xterra 2wd and was wondering what is the best terrain other then the road and could I do a little bit of mudding

A 2wd is better with the limited slip or locking rear end. Tires have a lot to do with where you’ll be able to go as well.

Hmm, I would say the X 4x4 goes anywhere and everywhere, not so much the 2wd. But the X 2wd would certainly be better than most cars!

What would it be best for

It could do high clearance type dirt or gravel or rocky trails that don't have substantial rocks or ledges and probably do alright. It's going to have limited abilities in sand or mud.

My 4WD xterra 2002 is HORRIBLE in the mud when it's in 2WD! Get stuck real quick. Not enough weight in the rear. With a 2WD all you have is lots of ground clearance, but mudding? Meh
