Bent throttle body part

Took my car in for some maintenance stuff, drivers valve cover gasket is leaking and transmission drain/fill... But he called and told me I have this bent part of my throttle body that may need to be addressed (bent about 40 degrees). I don't know what it is or why it's bent... But here are the pictures. I told him to go ahead and clean it out btw, looks gross.

What is that? is it important? Can I band it back or do I have to replace the part? What problem/symptoms would it create? So many questions...

Thanks!

That TB cleanliness doesn't look too bad. However, the bent part should probably be replaced. Not sure what it does but it's a stop screw for a valve position of some sort.
It's worth a try, it's useless as-is. If it breaks you won't be missing out on anything.
