So I have an 07 with a double-din pioneer stereo, and I recently put in 450 watt max front door speakers, and they sound worse than the stock ones? I had the base audio kit when it was stock. Anyone have any advice on if I can make it sound good, or what I can do to have a good audio setup in my X that won’t kill the bank? Thanks guys I appreciate it

Get an amp. 450 watt speakers on a aftermarket radio is most likely under powering the speakers. Most aftermarket radios are about 55 watts per channel at about 30 watts RMS. Your 450 watt max speaker probably needs 100-150 watts RMS to really get the speaker moving. Also make sure your positive and negative hook ups are correct. Out of phase speakers sound like trash.

I would invest in some higher quality speakers because honestly 450 watts rms would destroy any 6.5 speaker. Factory radios are lucky to push 10 watts. You can get a decent set of pioneer/sony/kicker at you local store pretty cheap
