Yo, has anyone tried the EBAY radiator support for a 2004 xterra yet? I found one for a very good price that includes shipping costs. It's the whole assembly too, base, sides, top etc.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Radiato...ash=item462d9dd7c2:g:3s8AAOSwstJZP6sO&vxp=mtr

Also, am I correct that it appears to be fairly simple to replace the whole radiator support assembly on a 2004? I think I would maybe would need to grind down some spot welds on the broken support assembly to remove it, and then either get my buddy to weld the new one on OR drill some holes through the spot weld locations and bolt it on - Correct? Anything else to consider when replacing the radiator supports?

Maybe considering the ebay radiator support assembly from Ebay is a bad idea due to cheap chinese steel potentially being used. Has anyone tried to use JB Weld to fix cracks in the side radiator supports? I don't have rust, just cracked side supports.

RockAuto would be my first choice for a factory replacement option first. if all else fails surprisingly Autism zone carries primed and ready to go such parts too and the steel quality isnt as bad as one would think.

There is another GOOD place I recall.. but I need to go back in time for a minute.. lol

EDIT: Found it.. Pricing may not be ideal but the quality was always hot in the Honda community and they are far cheaper than anyone ive seen in the Nissan community.. ha

Thx Undrstm8ed -
Rockauto says it is out of stock for my year/model. Supposedly, other 1st gen radiator supports are compatible; they at least look very similar and they have a few in stock.

And Heh Heh about "autism Zone" ... i may need to see what my local O'Reilly's carries first, then check A-Zone or NAPA.

I believe I found out some worse news: the body frame where the side radiator supports are spot welded are also cracked in a few places. Why the hell did Nissan make body frame subsections out of such thin sheet metal???! It also looks hella hard to weld that thin crap too.

Ya, my oldest son is the ONLY import guy at an Auto Zone and gets flak from his coworkers but slings a ton of parts because he, like his father [SIC] is a gear head, mostly of imports but knows his domestic [Domestic rice I call it now] / competition well too. he hates that i call it that tho.. lolz

Rock auto generally has several brands in most things that make parts.. Cant always buy the one with the heart next to it.. ha and ya, right now, welding isnt a skillset I possess.. thats one of my partners jobs.

Im the idea/design guy haha

I would stay clear of the aftermarket replacement. Aftermarket parts don't fit the same as OE parts. If you read the negative reviews for this seller, customers complained about fitment issues. Based on the link you provided, there is an OEM Nissan part number that I was able to locate for the part that you are looking for. This is my go to source for genuine Nissan parts and accessories. Their selection, service and prices are the best in my opinion. Here's the part you are looking for https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-support-assy~62500-2z630.html?Make=Nissan&Model=Xterra&Year=2004&Submodel=&Filter=()
