I'm putting on an aftermarket exhaust this week on my 2011. I know that each brand of exhaust and size can really be dependent on the vehicle for the right sound/performance. Currently I am leaning towards a MagnaFlow exhaust, not sure what size yet.

I have a couple questions for anyone that wants to chime in.
- What brand do you recommend? What do you think about MagnaFlows?
- What size do you think sounds best on Xterra's?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am going for a mean sound but not loud enough to get pulled over. I am going for a deeper sound than an higher pitched sound (like some flowmasters have). Also not loud enough that it will be annoying on long road trips. I still want to be able to listen to my music, haha.

Any advice on a type of exhaust would be appreciated!

I went with Magnaflow on my 2004 and I was happy with it. I went with a muffler with custom bent pipe.

I went with a 2 in, 1 out Magnaflow 12280 muffler. 2x2" pipes going in, a single 2.5" pipe out. I did custom bent pipe from each catalytic converter and used the muffler as the "Y-Pipe". The sound is deeper and slightly louder. Honestly, I kind of wish it was louder now, as I have gotten so used to it, I don't even notice it. It does sound nice, I think.
