I'm looking to buy a Pro-4x and I found a great one...but it doesn't have the roof rack. I have never seen an Xterra without one and I certainly want to add one if I choose to buy this one. It is a 2013 and before I buy it I am trying to figure out how difficult it is (or how expensive it is) to add one on. I think I can easily find the roof rack to purchase, I am more concerned about having to remove the headliner and how much disassembly has to be done if there is no roof rack in the first place. I have no idea how one is added on aftermarket and how that works, so if anyone has any thoughts or feedback for me I would appreciate it. (I don't want a "how-to" because I plan on paying a shop to do the work - I just need to know if it is going to cost me an arm and a leg to do it) Everything else about this Xterra is exactly what I want, I just need to know how much of a problem I am going to be jumping into by having to do an aftermarket roof rack. Thanks guys!!!! (and if anyone has one to sell - let me know!)

are you SURE it's a Pro-4x? Lots of dealers say it's a "LOADED PRO-4X" when in fact it's simply an S model

The roof rack can be replaced if the holes haven't been filled in - can get an OEM one or aftermarket...

Frankly, though, with the hassle and expense, you may want to just find an unadulterated one - sounds like this one may have been hacked/tweaked a bit.

Thank you all SO MUCH for your input. Here's the deal...

I want a Pro-4x with leather and navigation with low miles that is under $25,000...that is very hard to find!

This one has everything I'm looking for, except the roof rack. Most of the others I find that are in my price range don't have leather/navigation or they have high miles. This one only has 2,700 miles!!! It seems like if the only thing I have to do is add a roof rack that doesn't seem like a big deal.

But please look at it and tell me if I'm wrong. I have been searching all over the country for awhile now, and finding the Xterra with all the features I want has been a big challenge. I'm using AutoTrader, Craigslist, ebay motors, etc. If you guys have ideas or suggestions of another way I can find what I'm looking for, please let me know. I'm open to any and all suggestions and I'm always up for a road trip!

Looks like a genuine Pro 4 X to me. I checked the model number, and it's as advertised. If the roof rack was removed, whoever did it also removed and capped the offroad light switch. It may have been ordered without the rack and basket.

You can buy it and get an aftermarket rack. If you want the factory rack, there are likely people who sell theirs after they replace theirs. If you buy that stuff new you are looking at a lot of money....like over 2 grand. The P4X air dam is over $1000, and I'm not even sure that includes the lights.
