Scored this sweet tube bumper on craigslist... it fits the body real well. Im in the process of stripping the powdercoat and cutting off what I don't need. Then i'll fab up what I do need for it to mount on the truck... it's going to look pretty rad when it's all done.

It was made for an old blazer... with a little modification it'll fit the X real nice. I've already stripped it and cut off some pieces that won't be needed.

Guess I gotta keep checking craigs list. I'd like to get something similar and then mod it. Can't afford the $700 for the bumper I want yet.

Here it is mounted with factory bolts... I had to fab up some brackets and then relocate the front skid. Now comes the fun part... filling in the gap around the headlight. There's still a lot of work to do but im making progress.

Yea, that's what I want for my truck. The desert runner tube bumper. No need for those heavy duty Shrocks for me. I like the light weight.

I used some 3/8 steel rod and bent it by hand... cut the pieces out with a grinder... welded and shaped with flap wheels and wire wheels.

Few more things done... I still want to remove the front tow hook and do something for front shackles or something. The webs create a lot of places for a bungee cord... added benefit.
