Hi all,

I am new to the forum. My 2005 Nissan Xterra wont start. All i get is one click. I tested the New battery and it is fully charged. I tested the alternator and It comes back with " Charging is below accetable levels" could this be an alternator issue?

Alternator has nothing to do with starting. You should clean up all connections to the battery and see if you can recharge it somewhere. some auto parts store do this for free. then try starting it again. the reason for recharging it is to give the battery that juice it needs to start the car cause sometimes it can't hold a charge. Also I'm curious as to how you tested the alternator. If it's installed on the car the car has to be running to test it unless you took it out and had a shop test it. Im convinced it's a battery issue or a corroded connection on the battery.
