Hi guys Aaron from Ontario, Canada here, it's been a few months.
My 2004 Xterra's A/C has slowly been cutting out more and more, so I brought it in to get diagnosed. The mechanic said that 134A was quite low and that it was low in oil and topped them up,(with dye as well). The A/C was nice and cold, but as soon as I drove a mile down the road it went warm again! The mechanic further diagnosed that it's the compressor clutch switch failing thus turning it off. Turn the truck off for five minutes, the restart and the A/C comes back on and repeats. Consequently the clutch / switch assembly is a $440 plus tax item and 9 weeks back order. Anyone ever run into this problem and find an effective fix and hopefully cheaper?
Thx
Aaron
