I'm told my driver-side(left), front control arm needs to be replaced.

I can't find one at any local autoparts store but I can find them online...
I also can't find any info on control arms here....

symptoms:
-applying breaks after driving in reverse
-knock/pop from left front wheel
-same thing happens but more noticeably when driving in reverse with steering wheel turned to the right.
Any thoughts/suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if it's the upper or lower but I'll try to figure that out.
If I can just replace the ball joints that would be great.
-they don't sell them individually, meaning I would have to by a left/right set? that's not too bad. would you recommend replacing them both right away or just the one that needs it?

Thanks.

I'll check that out.
For whatever reason I have obviously yet to master the 'Search' feature of this website as I can't find didly for 'Control Arm', 'Lower Control Arm', or 'Upper Control Arm'.

95% of my milage comes from city/hwy miles.
Is it worth switching ControlArm styles? I don't feel like putting the extra money in when I can simply put $40 worth of ball joints in and fix the problem.

If I find the 'How-to's' I'll post them here.

if one is bad the other is close behind you will need a new front lineament after a ball joint replacement so do both and get one lineament!

here's a pretty good how-to with 2 different examples:

Really? a new alignment for just the ball joints?
I thought you would just need one if you did the tie-rod too....
Do you need to remove the tie-rod to replace the BJ?
-if so is it best to do both LBJ's and tie rods?
-should you then do the UBJ's?
-where do you stop?
