2000 Xterra SE (I wish it was the SC because replacing my Knock Sensor would be SOOOOO much easier.)

I've owned this truck for about 4 months now. I replaced the oil sending unit back in August. Brand new part, not refurbished. It was a quick easy fix. Well, it's leaking again, and I'm not sure what to do.

It's looking like I have 3 options for this darn thing: sell it, put a new oil sending unit in it, or use plumber's tape to keep it from leaking again.

Is this a common problem with the Xterra?
Would using plumber's tape work as a long lasting fix?
Is it possibly a driver/owner error that's causing it to leak again?
