So after looking at multiple parts sites for a fuel filter for my '07 and not finding any I can only assume that Nissan in their infinite wisdom didn't give us a replaceable fuel filter and only has the one in the tank. Am I correct on this?

i know this is old but 99% of cars and trucks built after 00 to 05 or so have gone to a liftetime filter built into the pump assembly. More like strainer than a filter and doesnt need to be changed unless the pump does

Still don't agree with it. In tank fuel pumps have had the strainer socks on them for years now but cars still had regular filters. Got to change the pump now any way so it will get a new sock. Stock pump works fine but the level sender is all wonky. If I have to drop the tank i might as well replace the pump too. 155,000 miles now.

yes, but you cannot blame nissan for an industry trend. the 1 plus of it is one less thing to clog up that and modern gas is usually very clean and doesnt need a ton of filtering like gas did just 10-20 years ago. and there is more than just the fuel sock most modern fuel pump assemblies have a strainer inside the pump assembly, right before the pump as well as the sock.
