'05 Third Brake Light Ground Location?

Greetings All,

Newbie here. Bought my '05 Xterra a year ago this week. The third brake light is out. I've replaced the brake light, to no avail. Checked the fuse and it's fine though I figured as much as the taillights and turn signals work fine.

That being the case, I'm trying to check the ground for the third light. Can someone enlighten me on where the ground is and how to access it? I've tried looking around for a wiring harness and all I can tell is that the ground is "B8" and located somewhere above the left rear wheel well. Thanks!

P.S. - If anyone has any other ideas as to why the third brake light wouldn't be working, I'm all ears. :)

Did you check for voltage in? if you have voltage coming in, then you have a ground problem. If you DON'T have voltage, then you have an open on the "hot" wire.
The only thing I can recommend is get one of those testers that uses a light. Be sure to get the kind that lights up when Volts is 6-15.

Dont get the kind that lights up when you put the leads in a 110V socket.
