I once had the same problem. You need to be more specific about the problem. For me, my truck would randomly shut off while driving and it turned out to be the distributor bearing. which would not let the rotor rotate. If you can take your distributor off and rotate it by hand and it doesn't move freely then it could be the bearing inside. Also make sure the distributor is clean, these trucks are picky about distributors.

I just replaced the distributor rotor and it spun quire free.

Please be more specific about the problem.

1. Does the car actually turn on and then shuts off or does it continuously keep cranking?
2. If it does turn on does it run fine when the engine is cold (even when idling) or does it always run bad? if it does run, does the truck jerk while driving or does it bog down or not move an inch?
3. What is the current mileage on the truck?
4. Has the entire distributor ever been replaced?

Also you can not check if the distributor is rotating fine when on the engine. You have to remove it and rotate the shaft by hand to see if there is tension. you should also see if there are red metal shavings inside the distributor which can indicate the bearing inside is shot.

Yes it cranks. It runs extremely well while it IS running, But randomly will die. In a few seconds it fires right back up after all dash lights come back on. It literally seems like someone just Turned off the key then turned it back on 30 seconds later. Then it resumes running correctly.
