2002 Xterra:
A/C blows...but its not blowing cool at all. Heater is fine. Had a lb of Freon put in and a day later, same thing. Mechanic said it was a leak but didnt tell me where (apparently they put dome dye in). Now that its hot, I need to get it fixed but they arent giving me any info and I have someone else thats going to do the work for less. Can anyone tell me what this is thats leaking??

it could be a couple of things.....the only thing you can do is go to the auto parts store and buy some of the dye and look for yourself....

You can purchase a cheap ultraviolet leak detector at any auto parts store. Just turn it on and follow all the AC line hoses. You'll see where it is leaking. Also, the '02 had a BIG problem with leaking high pressure side hoses just as an FYI...

It could also be the thermal control amplifier. That is about a $30 part that is located in the evaporator box.
