  1. 2000 drive shaft center support

    Repair Questions
It may be that they use locknuts. The type that tighten down as a sort of interference fit. If you re-use them I'd be sure to use a little loctite, just to help ensure they don't loosen with vibration (that's what I did).

I'm not sure why they recommend that. They aren't a torque to yield bolt. Do make sure that you mark everything before you take it apart so that it goes back in the same orientation with relation to the each other.

Yep. There are a few things that can cause the problems that you are having. As I mentioned earlier, You should also check the EGR. Carbon can build up and make it stick open, which means too much exhaust gas entering the engine at low RPM, which causes it to stall. You can stick your...

There are a bunch of small coolant lines that run under the intake manifold. It is likely that your leak is from one of those or the T-housing bypass which is an elbow hose that can only be accessed by removing the intake manifold or the pulley brackets. One more question. Have you tried...

If the Camshaft position sensor is throwing a code then you likely need to replace the distributor as it is integrated into the dizzy The crankshaft sensor is fairly easy to replace but I would make sure you have the Crankshaft code as it is a separate code from the cam sensor. The air charge...

Pull the rotor on the distributor and visually inspect the bearing down in the hole. If you see metal shavings, it's time for a new dizzy. Is there a check engine light? Even if there is not I would have the codes read to see if there are any hidden codes or pending codes.

Also pop the vacuum line that goes from the Fuel Pressure Regulator to the back of the intake manifold of the IM with the engine running. If gas comes out of the vacuum line you need a new FPR. A ruptured diaphragm in the FPR will dump raw fuel into the intake and cause you to run rich. This...
  12. Sounds like I need a valve adjustment

    Repair Questions
Yep, an older engine will typically have some quirks. If snugging the valve cover gaskets doesn't work (some times they're just old, brittle and cracked) Replacing them is not too difficult. The passenger side is a breeze, but the drivers side takes a little more work to get to adn there is a...
  13. Sounds like I need a valve adjustment

    Repair Questions
Yep. Also, as the engine gets up there in miles you may choose to move to the thicker end of the recommended oil spectrum assuming it still fits within the temp specs of your area. This may also help with tapping in an aged engine. MY Frontier 4 cylinder was burning about a quart of oil every...
  14. Sounds like I need a valve adjustment

    Repair Questions
Could be the valve stem seals and valve guides are bad. I'd get it compression tested and a full leak down test done to try and figure out where the oil is going, but yeah, oil that low will definitely cause valve to tick among a buch of other possible issues.

  19. Remove Crankshaft Pully?

    Repair Questions
Yeah, to remove the pulley itself you need a puller. I don't recommend the jaw style, because you risk damaging the harmonic balancer. Rent one that makes use of the two screw holes in the pulley. I made my own out of a piece of scrap iron. Drilled a 1/2" hole (I believe I used 1/2") in the...
  20. Water leak on E-Brake pedal

    Repair Questions
Also check around the windshield. If it's leaking along the sides or bottom the water can easily travel. If it leaks at the top you will tend to get a drip that soaks the headliner ( Have that issue in my Frontier currently). The best way that I know of to fix a windshield leak is to have it...
