right size off road tires

So i'm not looking to lift it to high, but thinking about just a 2" - 3" lift. what would be a good size tires for that type of lift. i was thinking 285 70 17, but is there a bigger tire that wouldn't cause any problems?

I am thinking of doing the same thing, I would like to keep the stock 5 spoke 16's. What wheels are you using?

I think i posted this in the incorrect area. but i have a 2006 with 17" rims. Thanks for sharing that link though.

Check this to see what others have done. It lists mods they had to do to get what they have.
