Stock on the first gens can handle 32" tires. That tire size is 5mm larger than stock, and equates to 31.7" of height. You can fit those without modification
im running 256/75/16s without a problem. they really tuck nicely in the wheel wells and give your X that "beefy" look to it. Especially with an all-terrain tire.
