As of yesterday, I'm now part of the Xterra family. I bought a used 2001 Xterra XE, V6, 4x4, Solar Yellow for $3,700 CDN. While shopping, I was offered a 2002 Ford Explorer and did my research. Reviews indicated that the Explorer was more trouble than its worth. Coming across the Xterra, I did more research and found that it is mechanically sound which I need for transporting my little four year old.
I'm contemplating painting the Solar Yellow to either a Black or Dark/Forrest Green color. If there is anyone reading this who has done the same thing, please share your experience (good/bad, pros/cons). Thanks.
Thanks for replying! Yeah...the yellow, at first I didn't like it, and find it is growing abit on me. So just weighing out the pros/cons about painting for now.
one thing about it it sticks out. mine's grey but my old truck came yellow eith red racing stripes. I repainted it solid yellow when I had to do body work. My other driver is a gold Honda Civic. You get used/ want a different color when you've had it awhile. It's easy to find in parking lots and you know which is yours. [try that with a grey Toyota sedan] The only downside is you have to watch your driving. IF you cut someone off they'll know it's definitely you.
Welcome to the Club. Most people think about changing the ODD X's colors but in the end it ALWAYS grows on them. I say Stick with the Yellow and Paint the bumper Black. it will look sexy before you know it.
