mods for stock 05 xterra s

I have an 05 xterra s that is compleatly stock. Christmas is coming up and i want to upgrade something to my car (interior/extierior/or performance does not matter). What are some good first investments to make on a budget? lets say $300-$400.

what are you trying to do?

That amount might get a decent replacement head unit for the stereo, or a GPS, or an air intake, or a set of lights and mount, switch, etc.
Could get a decent CB + antenna

Do you already have the 4x4 basics like a tow strap, recovery gear, etc.?

I was definitely thinking about a new head unit and I do have some 4x4 basics. What benefits does the new intake offer? I was also thinking of finally installing some fog lights

something like a volant will give you a little more power/response as it serves as a cold air intake.

But the suggestions I offered depended on your intentions:
1) comfort/interior (head unit; gps)
2) Performance (intake)
3) off-road / tough truck appeal (lights & mount)
4) asset preservation (SMOD bypass)

There are all sorts of other things you could get, but these are the common first ones given your stated budget.
