What to look for in a 2004?

Well I'm a long time lurker, and finally decided to join the forum. I recently came across this craigslist of a 2004 Xterra:

http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3429328822.html

For the price compared to others in the area, it seems quite good. Besides looking at the basic maintenance, what would anyone consider when taking a look at this model? I know of rust underneath, timing belt changes around 100k, and checking the 4wd. What should I be concerned about with the transmission , driveline and engine, if anything?

Thanks in advance for the help.

D

Price looks good and it sounds like you have most of it covered. Just take a spin and see how it drives.

Thanks for the response! Is there anything with the transfer case or manual transmission I should be looking for specifically?

Just make sure it shifts smoothly and check the 4wd for function. If you flip down the drivers side visor there will be a placard explaining how to operate the T-case.
