'02 Frame Stiffeners

Hey everyone, yea I've searched the threads but I still can't find a drawing for these bloody things or even found any online.

I found a guy who can make them for $100, which isnt the problem, the thing is he wants to charge me another bit for figuring out the design.

Point is, wanna help save a guy some money and help find a design?

I'll also hopefully be taking a look at an X at a junk yard today so hopefully it has some on there.

I have read that if you call shrockworks they will make you a set for about $100 plus shipping. not sure if its true or not.

I had remembered seeing some thread a while back at some point that these were endorsed by some of our members: 4x4 Connection

They're a little more than $100, but they're already made up. The problem is I don't think they're a stocked item. You probably have to call and get them fabbed up at the time of purchase which may take a while. Your other option without going through a junk yard like you mentioned is Shrockworks. People have said theirs are good but like anything Shrocks makes it takes a good long while to actually get it made and delivered.

If you really want to go with getting them custom fabbed you'll probably have to base it more off or pictures and measurements than anything pre-rendered unfortunately. This thread from earlier this year was about figuring out the same thing. If you and your guy are able to come up with some concrete designs maybe you could help contribute to the ongoing cause

Well I'll be hauling trailers and putting a heavy load on my hitch, not often mind you. I've read that you should really get them. Cause the end of the frame is open instead of closed box.

I'd personally rather not snap my frame or anything like that, so $100 is a worth while investment.

Are they difficult to make? It doesn't seem like it, but I'm gonna talk to him if he can do the design and stiffeners for $150. Its a little more than I'd like to pay but if it helps everyone out then I think it might be worth it.

I don't see how. Just buy some 3/16" steel angle iron drill some holes and paint them. Done!
