Exclamation MPG chip???

i bought a Volo FS3 performance/MPG chip, but returned it. I seen a average of 2mpg increase. I was wondering if anyone has cheap ideas to save MPG? or good ideas to save MPG. i get 15MPG in my 2003X. I cant stand it, i guess thats what you do for love though..

does anyone use fuel chips? or have unbiased opinion about them?

GOAL: save MPG$

There is no magic chip out there that will do a lick of good (ie pay for its self) for the 1st gen. Your options are deal with it or sell it.

I get 19-22mpg. I switched to the non-ethanol fuel and it made a big difference. I was getting 15mpg. If non-ethanol isn't available I use either BP mid grade or add Lucas gas additive.

I get about 16mpg with non ethanol fuel, but I havnt found anybody around that sells it. my g35 hates ethanol fuel. with non ethanol fuel I get about 27mpg on the highway in the g, but ethanol is doing good to get 18 or 19. We drove it to florida this summer and i found a few stations on the way that had non ethanol fuel that was only available in premium (what i run in the g35 anyway) and was very happy. I saved the stations in the gps so i could stop at them on the way back. saved me about $60 in gas round trip.

The wifes mdx could care less what kind of fuel you put in it. it gets about 1mpg different as long as you run premium.

No one ever said they were cheap to run...fuel-wise at least. Get a motorcycle and ride that on days when you can?

I get about 14-15MPG with my X with very little highway driving. I am quite happy with that for a supercharged brick on wheels. If you want fuel economy then get a used Toyota Yaris type of car for daily driving.

closest place with ethanol free gas is about 36 mile round trip, and $.60 more a gallon than what I am paying locally for ethanol gas. $10 more per fill up and 2 gallons of gas burned round trip. Not sure its worth the trouble for regular fill ups, but I will keep it handy for longer trips. Thanks for the info.
