Hi I have a 2000 Xterra with manual locks. The outside key lock on the drivers door is worn out and I'm now unable to use it. Is it possible to switch the lock from the passenger side to driver side so that the broken one is on the passenger side? I'm trying to avoid talking with a dealer or having 2 keys....
Try taking it to a locksmith first? I had seized tumblers on the driver door and trunk of a 1996 Corolla and my smith worked at them with his kit and a little WD-40 for about a minute each, freed both and they have been working great ever since (albeit we now also have an alarm system with fobs but that's a bonus).
Thanks for the reply. What I ended up doing, was switching the lock with the passenger side. That lock worked fine. Ended up selling it a few months later, so doesn't matter now...
