so I have this ticking sound when ever i start my truck or when i get out of the throtle. i found that the noise is coming from the distributor. it's also throwing the knock sensor which is not allowing the truck to pass smog. i bought the new distributor but i'm trying to figure out how to install it or better yet set the timing if anyone can help please repond. thanks! mark the location of the rotor on the old dist, transfer the mark to the new dist ,pull the old out put the new in with rotor pointing to new mark will get you close so you can start the truck ,finish with a timing light.

My '03 does the exact same thing at startup, I think it is a common malady with the 3.3L..
