Question Phone mount for gen 1?

I have a 2001 Xterra, wondering if anyone has come up with a good way to attach a phone holder or what phone holder you'd recommend?

I have a Nexus 5, tried to use this thing (flex holder that attaches to the V12 plug). It was effectively useless, maybe my phone is heavier than they expected, but it rotates all over the place and simply falls out on any sort of rough road.

I was thinking of using some sort of adhesive mount, but not sure where I'd even attach it or what mount to use. Seeing as phone change with the seasons, I'd be nice to get a mount that could fit different phones or some sort of bracket where you could change the attachments?

Anyone try these guys: ProClipUSA

There's a ton of mounting options through Ram and their mounts are bullet proof. *edit - link might help hehe

Buddy has one attached to his 2nd gen dash with 3m adhesive and it's rock solid with larger smart phone, even off road.
Ah, if memory serves just a small round base, adjustable arm and X-mount.

Traded in all my project cars for a new Xterra, not an ounce of buyers remorse. My build thread

I like these magnetic ones. I use the surface. Gen 2 has a spot that's perfect for me. Quite a few different options though. Works great

Hey guys,

Just figured I'd follow up: got the ProClip USA dashboard mount, and it's perfect. Fits my phone perfectly, well built, easy to install. Totally worth the money compared to the cheap chinese generic mounts.
