The harder part for me was finding the frame stiffeners if you go OEM! I had to email and ask around until finally finding them (only by asking) from Shrock.

Not sure if you can get the stiffeners from a salvage yard too or not, but wouldn't be surprised if they charge you extra. Especially with the bolts that break off and have to be removed to get it out.
If you find the hitch already out of the vehicle from the yard I servilely doubt you will get it with stiffeners?
The OEM package included frame stiffeners for the 2000 - 2004 models, as the rear horns are C-Channel not boxed as the rest of the rails are.
They are simply "L" brackets with welded in nuts that you slide into the horns to reinforce them. The Shrock ones mentioned above are a LOT beefier than the stock ones BTW, night and day.
I have a somewhat beat up OEM hitch off a 2004 in my garage, albeit no spare stiffeners.
If doing the JY routine, the stiffeners should be in there, but, yeah, the rust welds are likely to be challenging, so bringing a sawzall, etc, might help.
You mean this?: Class 3 Hitch Nissan Xterra I'd recommend checking Hitchweb out if you're still looking for a hitch. I got my hitch from there and I continue buying all other products from them as well. I have never gotten a bad shipment.
Got my reese class 3 hitch from amazon.com no issues and install can be be done in about 10 minutes in your own driveway.
