I have a 2001 Xterra and I'm having some acceleration problems. I've only noticed it when I have the cruise control on under light acceleration it sputters before I've set my crusing speed.
I'm not sure how the Cruise Control works on the first gen. Is there a second throttle cable attached to a CC actuator? If that's the case it might not be engaging quick enough and cutting fuel between switching from manual to cruise... Otherwise it's hard to think what might be causing a sputtering when switching to cruise control besides the throttle body.
I also have a problem with the driver window switch. I sometimes have to band on the door for it to roll up. I think its the switch.
