Arrow Nissan Xterra Turn Signal / Tail Light LEDs! Plug & Play! See Installed Pics!

Nissan Xterra LED Tail Light LEDs

From the factory, tail light bulbs are powered by standard incandescent lights that light up white in color, and cast light through your red or amber tail light lens. This results in a washed-out color.

Newer luxury vehicles are using LEDs for turn signals, because LEDs offer a crisp, instant on/off function, increased brightness, and true, vibrant color. By replacing the bulbs in your Xterra, you can achieve this modern look!

Brightness

Diode Dynamics offers several brightness options so you can choose what fits you best. These options are listed by the design and the lumen output of each bulb compared to factory:

HP11: (310 lumens) Slightly higher brightness than OEM bulbs.

XP80: (510 lumens) Much brighter than OEM bulbs. These are bright!

Bulb Design:

HP11: Four side-firing 1.5W-rated Osram LED chips, and one 5W-rated LED chip on top, which is projected by a lens for maximum effective brightness. The bulb is housed in a machined aluminum casing, which provides superior heat diffusion for long life.

XP80: Each of the four sides of this bulb contains three 5W-rated chips, and the top is fitted with four more under a projector lens. This is the brightest self-contained automotive LED bulb on the market, and is housed in an aluminum casing with a textured finish for maximum heatsinking properties.

Included in your order is TWO BULBS.

The LEDs create a much deeper, nicer looking red than the factory incandescent bulbs:

Hyperblinking solution for 2005-2015 XTerra

I noticed that if you select the turn signal bulbs for 2000-2004 XTerra it lists a flasher that can be replaced to stop the hyper blinking. I have a 2005 XTerra and it only lists the resistors for that fix. I had heard that there were LED Turn Signal Bulbs that have the resisters built into them, but haven't been able to find them. On my 2007 Titan (doesn't have a flasher module) I had to add a resister to each LED turn signal to stop the hyperblinking. It worked, but some things to consider are:

You must put a resister on each bulb.

The resisters can be bulky so placement is problematic.

The resisters get very hot so they shouldn't be mounted on plastic or with two way tape.

For each bulb you replace with an LED, you will have to add a resister, but if you are able to replace the flasher, will that work correctly if you only replace either the front or rear bulbs?

The 2007 Titan's flashers are controlled by the computer so I'm assuming my 2005 XTerra is the same. It would be nice if there was a way to fix it in the computer instead of having to add the resisters.

If I were to replace front and back flashers and add resisters, we're talking $100 plus tax and shipping.

@kschantz ,

In 2005, Nissan switched to an integrated flasher unit which is built-into the BCM. It can't be replaced like a traditional flasher relay sadly.

There are no LED bulbs with turn signals built in. Heat is a byproduct of electrical resistance, and heat is the biggest enemy of LEDs. If you had enough resistance on the LED's base to prevent hyperflash, it would cause premature failure or an extremely short lifespan.

Adding load resistors is the only solution for vehicles with integrated flasher units, and you'll only need one per each bulb.
