Question Need some guidance....

Hi All,

New member here, been lurking for quite some time. Looking for a solid, used Xterra. Found one local, and could just use some guidance, thoughts, advice, etc. on what I really should be focusing on when looking at this, and if this is fair, etc. Went and saw this on the lot the other day, but dealer was closed - http://www.danburyhyundai.com/bargai...c8ff70f7c1.htm.

It seems pretty solid, no rust. Small dent on rear driver side fender, above wheel, nothing major. No rust aside from the usual paint dings. Interior pretty good (ripped seat, ripped carpet, nothing bad). Nothing underneath as far as fresh leaks. Dealer says timing belt/water pump has not been touched by them and they have no records on previous service.

My concerns are the 4wd (it looks like after-market locking hubs??), so not really sure on that. And timing belt.

Any guidance, comments, etc. is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance....

Funny, I'm about to be looking at a 02 X 3.3L (non-supercharged) tomorrow. And came on here after tons of reading to ask them same thing. Looking for advice as to what to be looking for on these things.

Looks nice. Those are aftermarket manual locking hubs, actually an upgrade. Timing belt needs to be replaced every 105,000 miles. If the mileage is over that and they have no record of it being changed you should replace it ASAP. I wouldn't pay more than 5,000 for it.

I'm almost in for $3900. Thanks for the feedback.

Had my local Nissan dealer run the VIN, this thing is a disaster. Good thing I checked. Passing on this one.
