I think your over the limit. To take the boat to the neighborhood lake no problem but on the highway i would think that if DPS stopped you would get a ticket .
That will be fine. You are still 1500 lbs under the limit. Does the trailer have brakes? If not, consider adding them because that will be your biggest issue you will run into.
Thx.. yes I saw that the max tow weight is 5000 lbs. I was just hoping for some real life experiences.. thx for the answer I think it would be ok as I do have trailer brakes..
Typically boat trailers will only have surge brakes. Somewhat useful in sudden stops, but not for controlled braking like a travel trailer's electric brakes. You can't really use electric brakes on a boat trailer as electricity and water don't mix.
Take it easy and you'll be fine (and for God's sake, stay in the right hand lane).
Your fine. I used to tow my 18' Sea Ray no problem. I was right around 3000lbs but i'm a first gen with alot less power.
