We had or were planning to do a run in mid-September at Windrock (Coal Creek) in Oliver Springs, TN but there were a lot of scheduling conflicts especially with me so we postponed it to a later date to be determined.
For stock /semi-stock rigs, Coal Creek probably offers the most trails that won't get you in over your head but still push the limits as far as you are willing to go. There's several other parks in Tennessee but I know a few of them aren't too "body panel friendly". Wooly's and Summertown are two of these. There is a newer park in Sparta, TN called Golden Mountain that I've heard good things about but I haven't ventured up there yet.
Do not go alone! Never wheel alone. Don't put yourself in a situation where you will have to HOPE somebody comes along to help if you get in a bad spot or have a breakdown.
Keep an eye on the Southeast Regional Forums as I'm sure we will have one scheduled in the next few months. I know I've got to get on some trails soon. I'm having withdrawals. lol
Post up and let us know how Wooly's is. I've heard it's pretty rough for those that aren't ready for some body damage but it's only hearsay. If it's got something to offer the stocker/semi-stock rigs that would be great.
Hello, I'm in Knoxville area....about 30 min from Windrock.
Yeah, what Drake said, we had a run planned for Sept but it lacked interest and scheduling conflicts with me and Drake also too. Don't worry, there's plenty of time for other runs and I'm predicting we'll have another one right before Christmas like last time (Really not sure if I am able to attend a run around that time).
Just keep checking the Southeast Forums and don't hesitate to ask about it anytime, I'm sure there's probably a few that may be interested in going before Christmas, time permitting.
I'm a new member and not sure if this is a dead thread but there is a park in Cosby,Tn calles "Outdoors in the Smokies" I'd be interested in local run or meet and greet or both. Im lucky there is a small trail a few miles from my house. Its not a pay park just a holler trail, but easy to spend a few hrs on it. I'll be watching the forums and looking forwad to meeting some of you.
