I have a 2000 X with the 3.3. When I first bought it every time I opened the hood the oil cap was always loose, basically just sitting there not threaded at all. I'd tighten it but it was always super easy to tighten too much and pop the threads, so after a few tries I'd get it as tight as I could without popping the threads. But the next time I'd open the hood the cap would be loose again. So I thought maybe it was the wrong cap, so I bought a new cap, it fit tight, wouldn't pop the threads, and would stay tight. But it's been about a year since I bought the new cap, the last couple times I've popped the hood it's been loose just like before, and the last time I popped the hood the cap was completely off laying in the engine bay. Anybody know why this keeps happening or how to fix it permanently?
If the new cap stayed tight for a year, i would just replace with a new one again (cheap fix). The only reason i could see it not staying tight would be more heat then normal to it or bad blow-by
That is just my guess, I'm sure someone with more knowledge of the 3.3 can chime in.
Sometimes Amazon will have stuff cheaper...like my fuel sending unit was 5 bucks less with shipping, and oem nissan...but more or less, that's my go-to

I use Amazon for everything, but they're judgement on what will and won't fit your vehicle is pretty questionable sometimes. So I trust Rockauto a lot more. I used oem Nissan or NissanPartsDeal twice to buy an EGR bracket and an EGR delete kit. With the EGR bracket I paid $30 for two day shipping because my X wouldn't run without it and the part came 10 days later, it was two day shipping, but it took them a week to ship the part. With the EGR delete kit, they listed it as in stock, I bought it, they confirmed the purchase, they told me it shipped, then the day that it was supposed to be delivered they sent me an email saying that the part was discontinued and wasn't available for purchase... So I'll only use them if they're my absolute last option.
