I've been looking online but I can't seem to find the exact specs.

Size, Width, and offset.

Hope you guys can help... Thanks !

IIRC, they were 17 x 7 with 5.5" of BS.

ALL 2000 - 2004 X's can mount the same rims, and all have 5.5" of BS, so, they are interchangeable. The exceptions were some early 15" rims that had the same specs, but the 15" size didn't leave enough room for the larger brakes on later models...so caliper clearance with a grinder was needed.

So, all you need is to pick tires of the correct diameter, and any 2000 - 2004 rim 16" or larger will fit any other 2000 - 2004 X.

The 2004 model had two wheel options depending on trim level. I believe all XE models came with 16x8 wheels and some SE and all SC models came with 17x9 wheels. All 1st gen xterras had the same back spacing of 5.5.

My 2004 xterra came with the 17x9 SC wheels and mine is a SE model.

Per 2004 owners manual. 17x8. Offset 40mm. Meaning backspace is 6”.
An 8" rim is 9" wide when measuring BS and offset....so 4.5" of BS would be zero offset.

6" BS would be 1.5" or 38.1 mm. (That's pretty close to 40 mm, as a nominal spec)

The 7" rims are 8" wide, so zero offset is at 4".

5.5" BS would be 1.5" or 38.1 mm (Same offset)

That they used other than 5.5" of BS, is news to me...but I believe they rounded to 400 mm offset for all of them.

In 2004, you could get 17 x 8JJ on the SE's

or 16x7 (and 15x7 - Steel) on XE's.

Strangely, my 2004 owners manual doesn't list the SC, just XE and SE...in the tire/rim chart.

I don't see the option for a 17x9 rim though...?

Is the rim stamped 17x9JJ?

Almost positive the SC wheels are 17x8 and all the 15s and 16s are 7" wide. Might be some discrepancies based on measured and nominal widths.
