We hit up the Naches Pass trail last year at the end of July and we are turning this into a yearly trip. This year will be an extra day with us also heading to the Manastash Ridge area.

Date: Friday July 25th-Sunday July 27th 2014
Destination: Naches Pass and Manastash Ridge
Meeting time: 11 am leaving at Noon
Meeting location: 152 Roosevelt AVE E, Enumclaw, WA 98022, Safeway
Permits: Northwest Forest Pass (Yes, the sheriffs do patrol since the trail crosses many FS roads)
Communication: CB or two-way radio
Trail requirements: Traction tires, recover points(front & rear), proper recovery gear, basic tools
Trail recommendations: Sliders, some lift

This is a whole weekend event so plan accordingly. Once we leave Enumclaw I do not know if we will pass another store to purchase anything that may have been forgot. After we run Naches Pass we will camp that night, if you don't want to continue on with us on Saturday we will be at Hyw 410 and we can part ways. The Manastash Ridge area is unknown to most of us that are going.

If you are traveling from Eastern Washington/Oregon we are going to have a group meet up in Yakima, WA let me know if you want to join that group.
So, roughly...

Friday: Meet at the Enumclaw Safeway, leave by noon. Take the historic Naches pass trail over to the east side. At some point break for lunch/snack/pictures. Split the group, faster group leaves first in an attempt to find a campsite. We'll come out on FS-19. We jump onto 410 east for about 3/4 mile and turn left back up hill on NF-1708 towards Milk Lake. I'm hoping to set camp somewhere in that area.

Saturday: Head up Milk Lake trail, turn right at the top and take the beginning of Mid-Summit trail to Funny Rocks. Play around at the rocks for a while. Back the way we came on Mid-Summit to Tripod Flats trail. Lunch at either Tripod Flats (the clearing) or Lost Lake, depending on time/ambition. Take Shoestring and String to get to Manastash Trail. Check out Viewpoint. Take String to Tipover(option to back track on Shoestring to avoid Tipover) back to Tripod and back down Milk Lake to get back to camp.

Sunday: Start by dropping down to 410 and checking out Boulder Cave. Then head back up FS-19 to get to Lower Kaner Flats trail. Take Kaner Flats up to Lilly Pond Lake and back to camp. Pack up and go Home (option to go back up Milk Lake and Tripod Flats to get to Ellensburg to get home).
