Probably open diff. I think to check jack up the rear wheels in neutral. Try turning one and if the other goes the same way it's LSD if they go opposite directions it's open (I think)

Get a selectable one if you do. The previous owner to my truk put in a "posi-lock" or whatever full time locker and I HATE IT. Chews through tires like crazy and you have to take turns super slow in 1st. Also MPGs are shit.

I can't say that I recommend welding tempered steel with anything other than TIG but that being said: full welded rear diff will destroy tires if you drive it around like a daily driver on firm and hard surfaces.... Every corner will peel off layers of tire.
