IMO, Your best bet is to fix up your 3.3L and keep on driving. With maintenance it should be easy to keep it going unless something's badly wrong. There's not a lot of room under the hood for a bigger engine.
Getting any other motor beside a 2001 motor to work with the ECM and pass any kind of state inspection is going to be hard to do ,like said about fix what you have or get the same year motor.
