What are the chances that it was fuel pump ? Now it won't start at all and the fuel pump doesn't cycle when I turn the key on. I could here it previously.
Well after removing and testing the fuel pump it was fine. However I did find the dreaded green corrosion on the wire connection going into the fuel sender. Luckily a friend of mine has a wrecked 04 with super low miles and I was able to source all necessary parts from. Will follow up when it back together.
My xterra did the same thing a few years ago. All the wires around the fuel pump get corroded and rot, especially the fuel sending unit. After 14 years these things begin to rot to hell. Mines would crank but never start, my dad replaced the fuel sending unit and it started right up. good luck.
