I'm a press operator at a world-wide book printer(RR Donnelley & Sons). I've worked my way up from petty material handler to where i am now. Worked here part time for a 1.5yrs until I went to automotive school. Being a mechanic didnt pay that great so I came back here and in 3.5yrs ive had four promotions ending where im at now making the "big bucks". HaHa
Where abouts do you live. I feel your pain I run a laminator plus I'm cross trained in the bindery and pressroom. I've been with lehigh Phoenix now for a little over 4.5 years and only been promoted up to runnin my laminator. We used to do a lot of RR Donnelley work but I'm pretty sure that has stopped as of late.
In the US Air Force. Have been for 18.5 years. Started in Law Enforcement than specialized in Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection. Lots of time away from home...but it is what I do.

Life in the Congo is tough, it is tougher with a weak truck!

I live down in VA. Little place called Harrisonburg(home of James Madison University). I've worked in the bindery and pressroom and now im in the digital print area of the plant. I'd like to learn how to do the support area, which includes our laminator, flat cutter(I can basically run this as long as im doing manual adjustments. Haha) and actual cover printer. It's kind of neat to watch the stuff work over there.

Cover printing is pretty much why we do. I can run just about anything in our plant but it doesn't show in my pay lol. As far as Harrisonburg I'm quite familiar with that town lol. I have been there a few times picking up stuff I've bought off Craigslist.

I am sooo sorry!!! HAHA. It's really not that bad here though, at least when college isn't in!! Seriously though, next time you're down this way, let me know if you have time and we can go hit one of the trails or something down here if I'm not working.
