Help me make a decision

Gang I have a predicament:

Love my Xterra, hate my mileage, fuel source, and speed.

I have a 2002 standard 4x4 with automatic transmission and 116k. I want to either invest in it or trade it out.

Can I make this thing green? Bio-deisel would require an engine replacement

Can I make it faster? Currently it is really challenged going fast especially when towing.

I want it for weekend camping and vacations.

Any thoughts ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Yes, you can swap in a diesel engine, and RoninJiro still has a Nissan one that fits like a glove. Once you've make that conversion, then Bio-diesel should be a simple task.

You drive a brick. Also, fast+towing=not a good idea.

It works great in stock fashion for this stuff, and can get you really off the beaten trail to some awesome destinations. You can either load it down to do typical camping, throw a tent on the rack, or just sleep in the back.
