I meant is the idler bearing a critical replacement or is it just to remedy the squeal cause cash is a little tight right now with school starting and all.
Eventually they will fail and you won't be very happy. When they make noise, you've got a dry, gritty unhappy bearing (or 2). It's really easy, just follow the writeup- and the 2 bearings will be less than $30.
