Sorry to dig this up from the grave, but what would be worse as the result of an accident - having extensive body damage with a stock front (or rear) bumper, OR the possibility of a bent / tweaked frame with a Shrock mounted to the truck?

seems like most of the crash pictures that have been posted here and CF, there is frame damage whether its stock bumpers or not. no one gets out with just body damage.

Not being pessimistic but the first picture is photo edited. How can the car front bumper driver side get so damaged when not hit in that corner? It just looks fake. Sorry. The truck bumper would in the end offer protection however.

Great conversation on the how the bumper affects the crumple zones/frame and insurance. But...I have to agree with scott-bc, I think the pic is fake. No airbag deployments, damage on the opposite side of the car.

The great thing is that I think the X is climbing the POS!
