I'm a 19 y/o firefighter/emt-b in Newport VT. Right now proboard Fire 1 and 2. Been a paid on call firefighter for 3 years (just got moved off the heavy rescue to tower last month) and a part time emt for 1 year. Currently enrolled at Vermont Technical College for Fire Science, I graduate in May. Starting my EMT-I within the next month.
We run an average of 200 fire calls and 1400 ems calls a year
I have 15 years of volunteer service in the county I live in here in North Carolina. I have taken a year off due to divorce and getting all of that taken care of then looking to rejoin as a volunteer. You name it I have probably seen it. Well except those nice big city fires, all country around here but we are at the foot of the mountains and brush fires are beastly. I started out as a junior firefighter when I was 14, by the time I was 23 I was an assistant chief. I left that department due to moving and dropped back down to a firefighter. I am level 1 cert, confined space cert, HAZ-MAT Ops level. and miss my EMT-B only because I didn't have the time to finish my clinical portion before the class ended. but carried a 97 percent GPA in the class. Looking back I have spent a great deal of my time as a young adult either at the House or in my gear. I can't wait to get things settled so I can get back in and run.

I'm a fulltime paid firefighter EMT -B. Going on four years now. Work for a smaller town in southern alabama. Right now we are averaging 220 to 250 runs a month. Mostly medical calls. I`m ARFF certified also and work for a private helicoper manufacter partime along with a few othsrs from my dept. Also ride an ambulance ever once in awhile. We have a city ambulance service. Really love my job. No better job on earth IMHO.
After recently joining this forum, I honed in on this thread. I picked up a 2010 Xterra about 5 months ago, and I fall more in love with it every day.
I was a vol FF/EMT-B in Virginia for 3 yrs. The Air Force recently brought me to New Mexico. I joined a new department - and things are so very different here! I've gone from 2500 calls a year to 250, crews to respond from home, large to small membership, hydrants to "tenders" (apparently tankers are airplanes here...). Lots of changes, they are all good folks. I just wish we could run lights here. Apparently someone ruined that privilege in this small town a while back.
Well i was on a local fd through a high school program for about 2 years. Im entry level cert, ff1 cert, hazmat ops cert, and wildland suppression cert. I recently applied again. Waiting to here the good news.

Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum and to this topic. I am a Explorer with Post 1958 based out of Parker, Colorado. As of right now I'm planning on continuing my education and getting my Associates in Fire Science and then test with some local departments in my area.
So far my 2000 Xterra is fairly stock, just 31's, K&N drop in filter with intake mod, LOBO rack, and I chopped that limp D**k looking exhaust tip off and attached a down turn tip back by the rear tire.
