so i have found the problem to my burning smell coming from the engine compartment. I can only assume its oil leaking from the headers. take a look

Oil leaking from the valve cover onto the exhaust manifolds. The gaskets shrink over time you may be able to get away with just tightening the screws on the valve covers to slow the leak.
