01 xterra went dead won't start

My 01 xterra acted like it was running out of gas at a red light and then went dead. Now it won't start. The engine turns over but not starting. It has 182000 miles on it. Could this be the fuel pump or something else. Please help someone.... Oh it has never had any thing wrong with it before this

When was timing belt done?

The timing belt has never been replaced,when it went dead it did just like it was runing out of gas

pull the distributor cap, have a friend try to start the truck and see if the rotor turns. No turn: broken belt, see many threads about that
Turns: no gas or no spark.

IF its the fuel pump would I still be able to hear it when I turn the truck to on

yes, but there may still be a restriction. Did you check the rotor?

yes it dosen,t spin does that mean its the timing belt or could it be something else

How much is the xterra worth with a broken timing belt if everything else but the motor is good

Timing belt is broke. $400-900 to replace at a shop then you can check if you have head damage or not. If all is good, then you truck is good for quite a while -- these things tend to last as long as the maintenance is kept up.

Note: this was due at 105K.
