01 xterra went dead wont start

I was setting at a red light and my xterra started acting like it was running out of gas and went dead and wont start now. I had about 2 gallons of gas in it. Never had this problem or no problem unitl this. It has 180000miles on it. could it be the fuel pump or something else. I can hear the fuel pump come on when I turn the truck on,and the engine turns over but wont crank...Please help someone it is my only way I have to go
