Front PML only

One thing I have noticed on all first gen xterras and that is they always seem lower in the front as if they are nose diving. My truck was at least 1.5 to 2" lower on the front, stock that is. I planned on doing a full PML then I thought why don't I just do the front and make the truck ride level. After torquing up the front this is what I benefited:

1. Truck runs level, no nose diving look.
2. Braking is alot smoother, truck does not sag in the front when slowing down.
3. Truck looks alot better.
4. Gained alot of wheel clearance on the front.
5. Stiffer up front.
6. No real need to add longer shackles on the back.


At this point if I were to add longer 3" shackles in the back I would still go back to the drooping front look before I even started. Over all it looks so much better and I have the clearance on the front an back.

just as an FYI the nose down look is by design...it is for aerodynamics and handling purposes...but I agree the leveled look...or at least closer to level look...does look sweet

I agree with the level look. I maintained a slight front drop as it does help with Gas mileage and handling.

I do agree with you its by design and you would think it would hangel better, BUt after doing the front lift, seriously the braking is quicker and it rides way better. I highly recommend it.

by re=indexing the tortion bars you fixed its handling characteristics..by adding shackles at this point will give its designed rake back n shouldnt change what you`ve improved other than its stance....i like the rake

I leveled my gen 1 X when I got new tires. I had a bit of rubbing while turning.
